Avos 3:9 - Interrupting Torah for a Tree

December 29, 2022 Rabbi Matt Schneeweiss Season 10 Episode 23
Machshavah Lab
Avos 3:9 - Interrupting Torah for a Tree
Show Notes

This evening (12/29/22), in our Thursday Night Pirkei Avos shiur, we began by updating our theory on the purpose and intended audience of Pirkei Avos, in light of an observation made by Moshe Halbertal. Next, we tackled yet another short but practical mishnah about one's relationship with learning. We learned this mishnah according to Meiri, Abravanel, and Rabbeinu Yonah, managing to answer all our questions. We concluded by fleshing out the practical, contemporary applications of what we learned.
